You may have seen her at a Black Lives Matter gathering, or perhaps during an ABC News or CNN news segment, or maybe you visited 787 on a Friday to check out “Something To Say” poetry night. Where ever you had the privilege of seeing “The Queen”, we are sure she left quite a lasting impression. Although she has only been on the poetry scene for less than two or three years, Christine (many know her as Gretch) has taken the poetry world by storm. In a short time she has written a book, helped in branding one of the best poetry events in the lowcountry with the help of her partner Kinloch, and she manages to use her voice, her talent and her prose in the fight for justice and equality for black lives. Our Editor had a chance to sit down with Christine to talk about her journey and you can check out her entire story in the upcoming September 2016 edition of Syllabus Magazine.
