Baton Rouge judge has decided the Rap Lyrics from rapper Lil Boosie can be used against him in a murder trial. The rapper has been accused of hiring Michael Louding, aka Marlo Mike, to kill Terry Boyd in 2009. Originally, Marlo Mike denied any connection with Boosie, later on he told police that Boosie did indeed pay him $2800 to murder Terry Boyd.
However, Marlo Mike (who is accused of SIX additional murders in Baton Rouge) implication of Boosie is not what has the rapper in hot water, its the lyrics of one of his rap songs. According to various reports, one of his songs “187” has become evidence against the Baton Rouge native. In the track, recorded with BG, Boosie says, “Any nigga who ever tried to play me, they dead now.” Prosecutors are also taking into account the terms: “187,” “murk,” and “cake” as slang terms used to describe murder and money.
Those are the facts and personally, I think the case against Boosie seems weak, seeing as though they have to use rap lyrics in order to make a case. If they wanted to use rap lyrics against every rapper that said something incriminating, BET would be playing country music! We all know rappers exaggerage, lie, and tell stories, its ENTERTAINMENT and no one has ever considered rap lyrics a confession. ALSO the court has stated they dont have the song “187” in its entirety and do not have any lyrics, the defense have even stated the song may have been altered by police.
I’m not saying Boosie is guilty or innocent, but I believe he is entitled to a FAIR TRIAL and taking lyrics from half of song, done for entertainment to be used against him is not justice. This young man is facing life in prison, and if he is found GUILTY because of a few lyrics from a song – Thats that Bullshit.
