The Breakfast Club, DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlemagne tha god, are having a really cool radiothon today. The purpose of this radiothon is to helping raise money and give back to those organizations who have given so much to us. These organizations are made up of people who we see on the front lines, risking their lives, careers, and sanity in order to fight for change.
Today, The Breakfast Club will be raising money for The Gathering For Justice, and under this umbrella there is The Women’s March, headed by Tamika Mallory, Linda Sarsour, Bob Bland and a team of dynamic women who fight daily for equal pay, sexual harassment, and many issues pertaining to women. The Know Your Rights Camp, founded by Colin Kaepernick is a free campaign for youth, fully funded by Kaepernick that raises awareness on higher education, self empowerment, and instruction to properly interact with law enforcement. Also, The Justice League NYC is a non-profit organization co-founded by Carmen Perez and Marvin Bing, Jr. that assembled a diverse group of young criminal justice experts, direct service providers, activists, advocates, artists and formerly incarcerated individuals, tying together their resources to create a blueprint to reform the criminal and social justice system in NY City and State.
Today is our chance to give back to these organizations that have fought tirelessly on behalf of our freedoms, our children, and our rights. The Breakfast Club is broadcasting all day, from 6:00 am to midnight to raise money so that these organizations, and the people who run them can continue to have the tools they need to make our country a better, safer, and fair place to live.
