27 year-old Nneka launched Innovative Supplies and the internet went crazy. Nneka’s company specializes in creating school supplies depicting images of black people and characters. The notebooks and supplies are so cool, Take has sold out of all items – Amazing!
During a time where people of color are taking stock of how money is being spent and distributed, Nneka is taking a stance through her business in making certain she give back to her community. The Innovative Supplies website goals are as follows:
- Open and deposit profits into an account with black owned Citizens Trust Bank.
- Donate 40 percent of all profits made from book bag sales to local charities.
- Provide quality products.
- Hire local minority youth.
- Support other small businesses
- Use economically sourced materials
- Use environmentally friendly packaging
