These Kids Rapping About Growing Their Own Food Will Have You Wanting to Start a Garden…Like Right Now!
But why is this “Grow Food” song so dope though?! Chop it up…chop it chop it chop it chop it up!
Shout out to Appetite for Change out in North Minneapolis for creating a movement that promotes healthy eating and cooking within the communities that need this information the most. Appetite for Change teamed up with the Beats and Rhymes Crew to help shine a light on the importance of realizing what is being fed to many people in lower income communities, and how we can combat this by growing our on food. These young rappers are spitting some real bars, that are a little too real:
See in my hood there ain’t really much to eat.
Popeyes on the corner, McDonald’s right across the street.
All this talk about guns and the drugs, pretty serious
but look at what they feeding ya’ll
that’s what’s really killing us
This is such a positive message, done in a really dope way; and if you didn’t do just a little DAB, then I’m not really sure what’s wrong with you. Check it out!
