Charleston

We truly feel like we would be doing a disservice to the community if we didnt let the people know that on June 19, 2015 – you can get your “Free Lunch”. No, this is not an actual free lunch, this is a lyrical and spiritual free lunch. A few weeks back, we were invited to a special listening session for the new album, and all I can say is that …. damnit! We got to get behind this – like now! Many of us from the Lowcountry, for whatever reason, are just catching wind of Benjamin Starr, but this artist has a unique sound that you simply will not find anywhere else. Born in the Lowcountry, its exciting to see an artist of this calibur. If you still love lyrics, content, wordplay and real messages but you appreciate moments of trap motivation laced with mixtures of consciousness- then THIS is what you need in your life. “Free Lunch” will be available June 19th for purchase on iTunes, Bandcamp and his website bennystarr.com.

Trailblazers can be defined by many terms: Leaders, Innovators, Creators, Originators; we can go on and on. But one very important aspect for all Trailblazers is that they create their own paths. The upcoming issue of Syllabus takes a look at a few of these Trailblazers, which include Hollywood and Troy. The duo will talk about the relevance of them meeting as third graders, and growing into a team that has been able to create some of the most talked-about events, promotions and music from their region.

We can’t think of a time in our history where young people need to be motivated more than NOW. This trailblazer issue which includes interviews with Mossy B 4 Prez, Shai Girl, and Tawanna Tolbert, all include young entrepreneurs and artists who don’t mind creating their own lanes and who aren’t concerned with daring to be different. We are excited to share this issue in hopes that the Trailblazers we’ve selected will encourage YOU to shine as well.

Nicki Minaj is no stranger to the fashion game; she’s been slaying with her Kmart Collection and her Roberto Cavalli fragrance. Last week, the Young Money rapper added to empire by debuting pics of her Air Jordan sneaker.

Via Instagram, the femcee wrote: When you’re a girl but your custom #PinkprintJORDANS are about to s**t on every male rapper who’s ever stepped FOOT in the sneaker game!!!!

Nicki wore the sneakers for the first time at the Jordan Brand Classic in Brooklyn New York, where she performed. So will you be purchasing a pair of the hot pink and silver metallic Jordan Pink Prints?
