The stage is set for an evening of thought provoking, moving , fun loving ,soul stirring and dramatic community reality theater. “Gullah/Geechee Conversation Jes Wana Testify” takes you into the mind of Truth Pringle a Gullah/Geechee women who lives in Union Height a underserved community that is also called the neck . It is between the City of Charleston and incorporated into the city of North Charleston. Truth is in search of her true authentic self but, she is haunted by a past that consist of vision of thoughts and emotion that creates anxiety ,stress and depression. She decides to go into the wilderness and try to find a peace of mind. She starts to imagine ,feel and hear the conversations of her ancestor from Belmount plantation of which the neck was once called .Truth’s Aunt ,Moma Faith, who owns “Fruit of the Spirit Restaurant ” gives a soul stirring conversation about the journey of life .. Oscar, Pastor Gullah Joe, Constantinople and Tony stops by the restaurant to fellowship and eat, in their conversation with Truth and Moma Faith,they find that everything that Truth is going through is a reflection of their story and everyone is connected and there is no single story. The ingredients that they find that will help them through life is the fruit of the spirit love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness,faith, gentleness and self control and Moma Faith dishes that out in her conversation with them. Gullah/Geechee Conversation Jes Wana Testify is a gift of love that is based on Truth and Faith . Join us !!
