Today CNN Money announced President Obama is expanding a program that helps student loan borrowers manage that debt. This new program will cap monthly payments at 10% of the borrower’s income. What this program hopes to do is help borrowers who are struggling with paying back their loans.

The program also includes forgiveness for on-time payments and people who work in the public sector. For example, teachers can have their student loan balance cancelled after ten years of service. Low-income borrowers can have their balances canceled after 20-25 years of on-time payments. On today, President Obama will discuss student loan debt and other education topics on Tumblr.

Not that any of us are shocked by this, but residents of Myrtle Beach are banning together and speaking out against the annual Black Bikers Week — AND WE DON’T BLAME THEM!

There’s a Facebook Page called Myrtle Beach Against Bike Week and as of today it has 17,959 likes in less than a week! The page states:

“Each year our town is trashed, violent crimes are committed, and it’s only getting worse. It’s time for us to speak up and demand CHANGE from Myrtle Beach”

Now we’ve been to many bike weeks in the past and it was always a fun time, however throughtout the years it seems like it has turned into a weekend of fuckery and foolishness. I cannot blame these residents for wanting to be rid of this festival. The city has tried to rid itself of Bike Week before, but behind every city decision lies some sort of dirty dollar bill. They allowed the festival to return to the city and this year three people from the Lowcountry lost their lives and two people were injured.

So yes, this isnt about race, or injustice or any of that. This is about the safety of all persons living and visiting Myrtle Beach and its about the preservation of our tourist attractions, culture and beaches. We Vote Yes to get rid of that ratchet bike week, instead maybe Myrtle Beach can replace it with a festival for kids or alligators- hell, i dont know??
