22 year old DJ Zach Witness out of Dallas TX pays tribute to Mothers Day and homage to Erykah Badu, who he says influenced him so much and that he considers her a mother figure. He explains,
Badu has had a huge impact on my life, so much that I see her as a second mother. So you could say this is my way of telling her thank you. Her biography is actually woven into the music with the string intro indicating her young days as a modern dancer, to her waking up into universal consciousness, to her influence of jazz and 80’s R&B singers like Chaka Khan and Diana Ross.
